Smart Toothbrush Sensor

3 DEGREES consists of a sensor unit and a toothbrush body. When the user starts brushing, the sensor unit, precisely angled at 3 degrees, scans the surface of the teeth on the opposite side in real time to detect early signs of tooth decay. If any suspicious areas are found, the dedicated app quickly notifies the user and recommends timely dental care.

The most familiar image of Otoki Tomato Ketchup in everyday life is a half-used bottle, crumpled and left in the corner of a refrigerator. This work captures and distills the characteristic form and impression of that crumpled ketchup, reinterpreting it as a simple illustration.

The shape that subtly protrudes toward the edges of the seat not only encourages the sitter to maintain proper posture by inducing slight discomfort but also conveys a unique aesthetic. For the workshop with SWNA, which aimed to create a “chair made of wood,” the design was completed using a minimal form and technique that effectively highlights the aesthetics of misaligned surfaces.
